Founded by company Managing Director Trevor Coley, Sontronics was launched at the 2005 Winter NAMM Show. Coley and his team of top UK engineers have designed their microphones with the idea of providing professional quality at an exceptional value. In addition to their extensive microphone line, Sontronics offers top-of-the-line preamplifiers manufactured in Europe.

Sontronics began with an array of eight microphone products that attracted a great deal of attention from dealers as they recognized the outstanding quality and value. Since that time, Sontronics has continued to grow and now is available to dealers, artists, and engineers in over 30 countries around the world.

Considerable attention has been spent perfecting the characteristic sound of every Sontronics microphone so that they capture a performer with accuracy, regardless of the source. Each microphone has been carefully tuned to have an exceptionally smooth high frequency response. The low and mid frequencies are tight and accurate, keeping the recorded image clear and punchy, not dull and muddy.

All Sontronics microphones are manufactured under laboratory conditions, where their finely tuned individual performance characteristics are carefully measured and controlled. The mics are then shipped to the UK where they are checked and tested by Sontronics' in-house engineers before shipping to FDW-Worldwide.
